The plumber who still answers his own phone

Evan Pretorius has been a plumber for more than twenty years. He has fixed just about every burst geyser, blocked drain and hidden leak the East Rand can throw at him. Over that time he has also seen what annoys people about the trade: quotes that keep climbing, workers who don't arrive, half-finished jobs and nobody owning the mistakes.

Fox Plumbing was set up to do things differently. It is a Benoni company where the owner works on the tools. The price is fair and agreed before work starts, and the call-out fee includes the first hour of work. Pensioners get a special rate, every job is insured, and the person responsible for the work is the person whose name is on the business.

Customers notice. Ettiene Cronje put it in seven words on Google: “Fast and well priced. Always my first call.” When Dirk Kuit had an emergency, he wrote that “Evan went out of his way to accommodate me.” And Kelsi Holz summed up the workmanship: “never had to call back for the same issue.”

“Job very professionally completed. Can recommend Evan highly.”

We serve homes, businesses and industrial sites across the East Rand and greater Gauteng, from Kempton Park and Boksburg to Sandton and Midrand. The business has grown, but the promise hasn't changed: good work, honest prices and an owner who still shows up.

Our specialty is non-invasive water leak detection. Tracer gas and a sensitive detector let us find hidden leaks without tearing up floors or gardens.

We also supply and fit the Cleva Cova, a neat cover for where a pipe exits a wall – a small detail that makes the finished job look right.

Why registration matters

Only PIRB-registered plumbers can legally issue a Certificate of Compliance – which you need when selling a property, after major plumbing work and often for insurance claims. We're registered with the PIRB and members of IOPSA, so the paperwork is never a problem.
