How non-invasive leak detection works
STEP 1
Confirm the leak
A meter and pressure test tells us whether water is escaping – and roughly how much.
STEP 2
Introduce tracer gas
A safe nitrogen-hydrogen mix is pushed into the drained line. It escapes wherever water does.
STEP 3
Pinpoint it
A sensitive detector picks up the gas through tiles, concrete, paving and soil.
STEP 4
Fix one spot
We open only the marked point, repair the pipe and pressure-test the result.
Check for a leak yourself
- Close every tap and make sure no toilets are refilling.
- Take a photo of your water meter reading.
- Wait 30–60 minutes without using any water.
- If the reading has moved, you have a leak – call us.

Only at the exact leak point once it has been confirmed – usually a single tile or a small hole, not a trench.

Yes. It is a non-toxic, non-flammable nitrogen/hydrogen mix that disperses harmlessly into the air.
How long does it take? +
Most residential leaks are located within the first hour on site.
Will my insurer pay? +
Many policies cover leak location. We provide a report with photos of the leak point.
